Wow. And I thought I was a Kiss geek. I this is very sub-atomic Kiss
analogies. They are much too nice to Gene. I have learned long ago, that
Gene exaggerates and even gets his facts wrong, just so he can self-promote
himself and minimalize the contributions of Ace and Peter. It’s not so much
that he’s lying, he’s just delusional and sees reality different from most
other people. And then he stands by his point of view as fact.

EVH has stated he wanted to leave VH during the Fair Warning album. That’s
1982. I believe he went to Gene in a hasty mood. Warner Bros at that time
was behind DLR (Ted Templeton went with Roth when he left VH, and Ted was
their link to Warner Bros). I could easily see EVH going to Gene, even if
it’s just a “what if” conversation. Besides EVH and AVH played on Gene’s
Love Gun demos (Christine 16 and Got Love For Sale). I totally hear Ace
playing EVH’s licks on Christine 16, that’s such a “Jamie’s Cryin” kind of
solo. I heard that EVH said, “Hey, that guy (Ace) took my solo and added an
octaver pedal!” It all sounds legit to me.

Someone please expain the Special Thanks to Wicked Lester inside joke. Not
sure I completely understand it – beyond the fact that Wicked Lester was
the group Gene and Paul were in before and I’ve heard the unreleased album.

Kiss, has my attention. I think Mitch is kind of a cute.

Sounds like Eddie on Got Love for Sale also.I was thinking more Bob Kulick
but Eddie would make more sense and the lead starts off in the style of
    Eddie

complain much harder to actually do something about what you complain.

So you feel it is ok for any band to yell at someone even if they don’t
know their physical condition and if they person is unable to stand it is
not the band’s fault they yelled at them? Great! Way to have compassion.

quick thought on Edward VH. I do believe he may have approached KISS but
one thing (and this is an interesting theory if you think about it) I don’t
think in a million years he would separate from Alex. From everything I’ve
ever read those two are inseparable. I wonder if the true offer was “Alex
and I could come join KISS” I just don’t see Eddie bailing his brother. I
know it’s never been mentioned and I do believe Gene would have said that.
But it’s an interesting alternate scenario. :)

Quite strange how (according to Gene) the Dynasty tour was delayed by six
months. Were they really going to hit the road immediately after the
recording of the album in February and start touring before it’s even out
in the stores? Another entertaining episode. Thanks guys

By the way both Gene and Paul gave Peter’s solo album ZERO stars when going
through and reviewing all the records in Behind the Mask. Paul’s quote was
“how man stars? I can’t give it any”

Hey guys. Great show as usual. I have a question about the solo albums.
Didn’t it come to light that KISS had solo albums written into their
contract in 1976 and each counting as 1/2 an album to fulfill their
contractual obligation? I just think a lot of stuff about KISS in the past
was all marketing and Aucoin Mgmt words. We may never get the absolute
truth and that might be a good thing.

KISS wasn’t wearing makeup when Van Halens 1984 came out and that’s when
Eddie wanted to leave but instead kicked DLR out soon after
